Erlev Skole

This amazing project ranks high in the terms of social, economic, and environmental sustainability. The creative team of architectural studio Arkitema designed a space that's a real example of activity-based education. The space is designed as a series of simple and open geometrics – a grid column, where each part has a unique purpose. The traditional school rooms are replaced with fresh spaces built around the three central hubs - the café, the didactic learning center, and the multipurpose workshop. Each area is created with a focus on children's needs, so they can learn, hang out, get inspiration and express creativity freely.

The quality of the furniture is what really stands out. HOLMRIS B8 supplying and installing nearly all of the school's furniture, did a great job in creating a sense of security and intimacy. Three houses situated throughout the school will make students feel safe, whether they want to play, study, or have some alone time. What really stands out is the high-quality furniture, such as the high- and low-backed soft seating series TWEET, that are also used in office spaces. Stage modular boxes are used to create a unique multi-functional world that engages creativity and lets easy rearrangement. Lastly, furnishings feature sustainable textiles and surfaces that match the green architecture of the school.
